As he ends his work in Root, he no longer dons that outfit. He often puts on his forehead protector and gloves in which his index and big finger are exposed. Sai usually has a calm attitude.Īs a Root ninja he usually wears a short black jacket, dark pants, a gray high collared shirt without sleeves and black ninja sandals. His distinctive trait is a characteristic smile: kind, calm and obedient, with squinted eyes. Though he has an unemotional face at first, it slowly changes as he opens a little, but still remains relaxed and unmoved. Sai is introduced as a quite tall ink-haired young man with jet black hair and a very pale complexion. In Part I they took care of a little girl called Kasumi, but later decided to find her a better home. They become a couple and stay together to the end of the series. Later in the series he quits his ninja career due to his relationship with Hananuma Taji. He starts as a chuunin and quickly is nominated as special jounin due to his ninjutsu mastership. In Part I he is an ANBU's Root member replacing Uchiha Sasuke in team Kakashi.
